Welcome to the Kay Carl Google Portal!

Make A Selection

What's this Google thing all about?

Many of our students use Google Accounts in a CCSD partnership called GAFE or Google Apps For Education. GAFE helps to make Kay Carl a school of the future -today! For an intro, watch this video. Students can access their Google account on any device at any time. This free program has the potential to revolutionize how our students learn, collaborate, and connect with their teachers. What’s so great about Google Drive? And why should my students be using it? makes for a great introduction to what your child can do with this software. While intended for teachers, the article and videos will help any parent to understand this exciting educational tool.

This page can help students activate their accounts. In addition, this page is intended to help students log back into their accounts for the first few times. Once students are comfortable with logging in, they can directly go to Google.com to access their accounts.

            Activate Your Google Account

  • Go to Google.com.

  • On the Google page, click the Sign In  button in the upper right hand corner.

  • When you are prompted to enter your email, insert an email address with these five parts:

first name (up to eight letters) . infinite campus ID @ nv.ccsd.net

If your name were Joe Schmo with Infinite Campus number 123456, your email address would be joe.123456@nv.ccsd.net. Mr. Dwyer has your Infinite Campus number but your teacher might also have it.

  • Your password will be your birthdate (YYYY/MM/DD). What are the month numbers? As soon as your account is activated, you will be prompted to change your password. Do so using your favorite color + favorite book character + favorite number.

If you're on a public computer, like one at school, make sure you sign out when you're done. If you're using an iPad at school, you will need to delete your account from the device since the app doesn't currently allow users to sign out. My Drive > click on your name > manage accounts > manage > remove > remove

I was locked out of my account over the summer

Each summer, passwords for all CCSD Google Accounts are reset -usually to the student's birthdate. Here's how access your account:

  • Go to google.com and enter your email adress to login.

  • Instead of the password that you've been using, use this instead: 4 digit birth year 2 digit month 2 digit day or (YYYY/MM/DD). For example, if your birthdate was January 15, 2005, then your password would be 20050115.

  • Once you log into your account, immediately change the password back to your favorite color, favorite character, and favorite number. Do not keep the birthdate as your password, it is really easy for anybody to break into your account.

How do you change your password?

  • Once logged in, click on your picture or the letter of your first name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Once clicked, a menu will appear. On that menu, choose "My Account."

  • "Under Sign-in & Security," choose "Signing in to Google."

  • On the "Signing in to Google" page, click on the word "Password."

  • You will be asked to confirm your birthdate password for the last time.

  • Now, write what you want your real password to be. You should change it to what it was (your favorite color, favorite character, and favorite number), but it can be anything you like as long as 1) it is strong and 2) you write it down and share it with your parents.

  • You're back in action!
